NOTE: This reply only gives the tutorial to HIDE it, not REMOVE it.

Right-click the taskbar (other than the app icons), choose News and Interests from the context menu, click Hide / similar button.

It's easy to ride down a hill while it's hard to climb the hill back up. Like that, it's easy to malfunction a computer while it's hard to fix it.

Sorry, I don't even know what you mean by "taskbar". Where exactly do I click to stop this horrible intrusion? It is SO annoying to be reading something else and this junk pops up and cannot be closed.

It really grinds me when the computer nerds decide they know best what I want - they don't - and this Microsoft popup is one of the most irritating I've encountered, because it is so hard to get off the screen. Clicking elsewhere does NOT help.

And when I get on Microsoft Edge, it talks to me in Norwegian ... since I'm living in Norway it assumes I understand Norwegian which I don't, much ... but doesn't say how to change the language ... my next inquiry.

I've gotten MicEd to change the language, but the screen doesn't show me where to disabile the popup as described above.

You can easily disable the pop up by right clicking on the taskbar and going to News & Interests, then click Turn Off

THERE IS STILL NO 'x' to close it when it accidently pops up. Even if its supposed to disappear when the mouse leaves, it doesnt! Thankfully i disabled it completely now because it was impossible to close manually. Billions of dollars, thousands of programmers, and simple useability issues like this?
